The L’Oréal India For Young Women in Science Scholarship is a commendable initiative aimed at empowering young women from economically disadvantaged backgrounds to pursue higher education in science. Established in 2003, this program has supported over 385 young women in realizing their scientific aspirations.

The scholarship provides financial assistance to cover college fees for undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD studies in various scientific fields, including Pure Sciences, Life Sciences, Applied Sciences, Engineering, Medicine, Cosmetology, Cosmetic Science, Pharmacology, and more, at recognized colleges or universities in India.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the L’Oréal India For Young Women in Science Scholarship 2024-25, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Gender: Female
  • Academic Qualification: Passed Class 12 in the Science stream with a minimum of 85% marks
  • Current Enrollment: Pursuing an undergraduate degree (any year) in a science-related field
  • Family Income: Annual family income should be less than INR 6,00,000
  • Nationality: Indian (students from all over India can apply)
  • Exclusions: Children of employees of L’Oréal India and Buddy4Study are not eligible to apply

Benefits of the Scholarship

Selected scholars will receive financial assistance of up to INR 2,50,000 to cover their college fees.

  • Recent passport-sized photograph

Selection Process

The selection process involves three steps:

  1. Screening & Shortlisting: Applications are screened, and documents are verified.
  2. Telephonic Interview: Shortlisted candidates are interviewed over the phone.
  3. Jury Round: A final interview is conducted through video conferencing or in person, involving the candidate and at least one parent or guardian.

Final results are announced within 30 days of the Jury round.
